JACOB JOLIFF & MAX JOHNSON with SERENE GREEN to open!
Known as two of bluegrass’ most amazing virtuosos of the younger generation, Jacob Jolliff (mandolin) & Max Johnson (double bass) have teamed up to present an evening of blazing bluegrass virtuosity, beautiful brother harmonies, and outstanding original music. Between the two of them, they have performed with Del McCoury, Sam Bush, David Grisman, Jerry Douglass, Chris Thile, and this summer have already or will be performing at DelFest, Northwest String Summit, GreyFox Music Festival, Telluride Bluegrass Festival, John Hartford Memorial Festival, Blue Ox, Red Rocks, and other premiere venues. But, amid their seemingly nonstop touring schedules, Jake with Yonder Mountain String Band and his own namesake project, Max with the Jeff Austin band and his international jazz career, the two have decided to embark on a duo tour together. Serene Green is a growing fixture in the eastern Pennsylvania bluegrass community. Performances include original songs written by each of the four members, traditional bluegrass songs and fiddle tunes, and other unexpected favorites in the style of bluegrass. Its sound emphasizes instrumental prowess, soaring 3-part harmonies, and captivating live performances. Serene Green is the product of Pennsylvania musicians Quentin Fisher (mandolin), Michael Johnson (guitar), Shane McGeehan (bass), and Steve Leonard (banjo).
