The Wild Shoats

July 19, 2025 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm
An alt-folk stringband emerging from the in-between realms of Morgantown, WV, and Millheim, PA!

The Wild Shoats blend Appalachian old-time fiddling, folk songs, and the high-lonesome sound to create a unique sound characterized by the plaintive sound of fiddles and mountain singing. Featuring Mary Linscheid (fiddle, guitar, vocals), Gus Tritsch (fiddle, vocals), Huck Tritsch (fiddle, drums, organ), and Alex Heflin (bass, tenor guitar).

The band won the Appalachian String Band Music Festival’s Neo-Traditional Band Competition in 2023 and soon released their debut album, “Yell In The Shoats”.

Their sound is deeply rooted in their Appalachian background and informed by their collective experience in folk music, honky-tonk, and the high-lonesome. The Wild Shoats reimagine traditional sounds through both their original compositions and well-loved covers.
