SWEETGUM – CD Release Party!!

It’s a Pub Hang CD Release Party!
After 5 years, Gwen Stimely’s “solo” album, Sweetgum, is here!

Sweetgum features music composed and arranged by Gwen, an award-winning songwriter who travels the countryside making music with her banjo-playing and singing.
Her lyrics tell stories of love and loss, ghosts that want to experience the world through the listener’s lens, expressions of what was and what is no more, strong women who know what they stand for, beloved dogs, and humor. Songs that come from taking the time to stop, breathe, look around and appreciate being part of this thing called life and the experiences within.

But it doesn’t end there. Her ability to craft melodies that speak to hardcore banjo enthusiasts and to those that simply appreciate good music is a testament to the time and dedication Gwen has spent following her muse. Countless hours of honing her skill and always listening for the nuggets of inspiration in efforts of capturing them and sharing with the world. Her music reflects her love of folk, bluegrass, and all things acoustic.

Sweetgum is Gwen Stimely, Bill Stetz, and Steve Buckalew. Also featured on the album are a number of exceptionally talented musicians including Ken Shafranko, Steve Crawford, Jeremy Tosten, Megan McGarry, Richard Sleigh, Bob Bowers, and Marc Prave. No strangers to Elk Creek!

So c’mon out and grab a CD and jjoin the Sweetgum Band for this very special Pub Hang, where they will be joined by some very special guests to fill out the sounds!!
