Sweetgum

Sweetgum doing the Pub Hang at Elk Creek!
They’ll be playing a tasty mix of cool original songs, along with a few classic bluegrass numbers, with a dash of rock and roll!

Sweetgum is a folk trio of Gwen Stimely on banjo and vocals, Steve “Buck” Buckalew on guitar, fiddle and vocals, and Bill Stetz on bass and vocals. Sweetgum features the songwriting of Gwen Stimely, whose songs include Central Pennsylvania Moon, which won the Pennsylvania Heritage Songwriting Award.

Gwen, Buck & Bill have played together for a number of years in the Tussey Mountain Moonshiners, a long-time bluegrass band that plays in local and regional festivals, and the Poe Valley Troubadours, a long-time country-folk-rock band that plays (mostly) in Penns Valley. So they’ve had plenty of time to develop the special musical chemistry they have together.
