The Unbearable Weight of Being Seven by Jason Smoyer

My name is Charleen Casbourne. I create Abstract artwork with varying lines, shapes, and colors. The work is full of vibrant colors, strong forms, and with line movement.  The paintings are very colorful with strong contrast that uses an unusual palette. The subject matter is usually taken from landscape to organic features like flowers or plants.

I have studied at Carnegie Mellon University and Parsons School  of Design in addition to my training I studied abroad in Tours, France. I am disciplined in 2D mediums from pencil sketching to acrylic painting.

I have studied acrylic painting, my favorite medium, for over 40 years. I have been showing my art at numerous locations throughout the county and state. My paintings vary in size from small to large. The largest being 60”x 40” and the smallest is 10”x10’. These paintings create a narrative through color and scale. I look forward to presenting a show that will vary in subject and mood but still create a story for the viewer.
